Oh I was one of those rare children and adults that had a solid fam who gave me lots of love and attention. We'd go on camping trips, bushwalking, have family dinners, do stuff together. Dad was still a best mate til he died at 77. I was very, very, very, very lucky. One of my earliest memories is climbing all over Dad while he was reading the paper and noticing the symbol for 'Kraft' - would have been the employment ads - and saying 'look Daddy, cheese!'.
My son is reading his son 'The Muddle Headed Wombat' at the moment and he remembers me reading it to him when we lived in the Uk for a few years. THe year after that he read 'The Twits' very painfully slowly on the way up to Scotland. Lots of reading memories.
