RE: Children and Technology

Very educative write up.

Exposing children to technology is not all good. There are a few drawbacks. Mobile device overuse can be harmful to children's health since the more time they spend on them, the less time they spend undertaking physical exercise. When children prefer to play on their devices instead of engaging in physical activity, they are more prone to engage in mindless munching and other habits. Children spend less time playing, running, and burning calories outside as they spend more time in front of screens. Over time, these activities can result in significant weight gain and other health problems.

I believe BCIs (brain computer interface)if successful, can tackle these negative effects of technology in children especially from the mental perspective - certain regulatory programs can be put in the BCI device/implanted chip.
But just like nature always does, generating new problems after we solve a problem - BCIs could come with their own downsides.

The concept of BCI is good, but I think it not a solution because the negative effects of technology is more on behavioral and psychological issues. Uploading something to our brains and BCI is really a good concept to ponder. As you have said, it may have some downside. We are still too early to fully understand how the brain works and consciousness. Nonetheless, thank you for your insights. !PIZZA
