Greetings fellow travelers! Today we'll be visiting one of Lisbon's most important tourist sites: São Jorge Castle. It receives over 4,000 visitors daily, making it one of the most visited tourist attractions not only in Lisbon but in all of Portugal, surpassed only by the Jerónimos Monastery and Pena Palace, both of which we've already visited and written interesting blog posts about! In this post, I'll give you all the tips you need to make your visit truly magical!🙇🏻‍♀️🌏

Saludos amigos viajeros!!! hoy estaremos visitando uno de los sitios turisticos mas importante de Lisboa, haremos contenido sobre el "Castillo São Jorge", que recibe mas de 4,000 visitantes al dia siendo uno de los locales turisticos mas visitados no solo de Lisboa si no de todo Portugal, superado apenas por el: "Mosteiro dos Jerónimos" y el "Palacio da Pena", ambos ya visitados y creamos interesantes blogs sobre ellos! en este post te dare todos los consejos posibles para hacer de tu visita algo magico!🛺🧭

Let's see.... Visiting the Castle is relatively easy because it's in the center of Alfama, one of the most iconic neighborhoods in the country and where we find the famous church: Sé de Lisboa. We have several ways to get there, from walking to the underground metro, bus and even a tuk tuk. Any of the means of transport will not cost you more than 5 euros.😱🎫
A ver.... La visita al Castillo es relativamente facil porque esta en el centro en Alfama, uno de los barrios mas iconicos del pais y donde encontramos la famosa iglesia: Sé de Lisboa, tenemos varias formas de llegar al local desde caminando hasta en el metro subterraneo, autobus e inclusive un tuk tuk, cualquiera de los medios de transporte no gastaras mas de 5 euros.🚙🚕🚌🛺🚅🚄

Yes!! São Jorge Castle is one of the most popular sites in Portugal, and in fact, it holds the record for visitor numbers, surpassing any other national monument. For example, in 2018 it received 2,021,242 visitors! Wow!!! Crazy!!! This means that at any time of year you have to be prepared because you're going to have to wait in line, haha.

Si!! el Castillo de São Jorge es uno de los sitios mas populares de Portugal, y en realidad en anos tienen record de visitas superando a cualquier otro monumento nacional, por ejemplo en el 2018 recibio esta cantidad: 2.021.242 ufff!!! una locura!!!! esto quiere decir que en cualquier epoca del ano tienes que prepararte porque vas hacer fila jaja

It was raining heavily today, and that definitely affected my photos and videos! Rain is very common in winter; for me, the best time of year is spring or autumn, on days that aren't rainy. "Avoid at all costs" coming in summer!! It's crazy, way too many people. However, you can buy your entrance ticket online, which is a smart move!🏰🙇🏻‍♀️
Hoy estaba lloviendo muchisimo y eso claramente afecto en realizar mis fotos y videos! es muy normal en invierno toparnos con lluvias, para mi la mejor estacion del ano es primavera o otono, en dias que no sean lluviosos, "evita a toda costa" venir en verano!! esto es una locura, demasiadas personas, sin embargo puedes comprar el billete de entrada por internet es una jugada inteligente!🎫🚙

Yes, it's definitely one of the most impressive panoramic views of Lisbon, but only if it weren't raining, haha. From here you can see from the 25th of April Bridge to Cristo Rei, but unfortunately we didn't have a good view; only the Chamber of Commerce was clearly visible.😅

Si claro que es una de las panoramicas mas impresionantes de Lisboa, pero su no hubiese lluvia jaja, porque desde aqui se alcanza a ver desde el puente 25 de abril hasta el "cristo rei" pero desafortunadamente no teniamos una buena vision, solo se apreciaba bien la camara de comercio😅

We are indeed at the highest point in Lisbon, over 111 meters high. It might not seem like much, but you won't find another view like this in the area. The closest is at Cristo Rei, but that's not in the city center, and you have to cross the bridge to the south bank! You could say that walking along these walls is to admire the fortress that protected the monarchy throughout history! I think if this castle fell... the crown would fall too... That's how important it was!🙇🏻‍♀️🏰
Efectivamente estamos en el punto mas alto de Lisboa a mas de 111 metros, que no parece mucho pero en realidad no tendras otra vista como esta por la zona, lo mas proximo es en el "cristo rei" pero eso ya no es el centro y tienes que pasar el puente hacia el margen sur! podria decirse que pasear por estas murallas es admirar la fortaleza que por toda la historia resguardo la monarquia! creo que si este castillo caia... la corona tambien... Asi de importante fue!!🌏🏔️

There's a lot of history within these walls: many wars, fallen men, and burial sites. Since 6000 BC, this area has been inhabited, first by Paleolithic people and later by less complex civilizations like the Phoenicians, until the rise of the powerful Roman Empire! At the end of the tour, we can see many artifacts and architectural fragments that reflect different periods of occupation!🏰🧭
Hay mucha historia dentro de estas murallas, muchas guerras, y hombres caidos, zonas de sepulcros, y es que desde el 6000 a.C esta zona fue habitada primeramente por hombres de la era paleolitica y posteriormente unas civilizaciones menos complejas como los fenicios hasta llegar al poderoso imperio Romano!! en el final del recorrido podemos ver muchos objetos, y pedazos de arquitecturas que pasaron por diferentes epocas de ocupacion!🚩🧭

We always thought that people were short in stature, but that didn't prevent the existence of some tall individuals! In the distance, a figure like no other... A figure who represented the true value of a Templar! A man almost two meters tall with the DNA of a conqueror, he arrived in 1147 to claim what was rightfully his! And so, a series of bloody battles against the Moors ensued, and that's how Alfonso Henriques took control of this area and built this castle!🌍📍

Simpre pensamos que las personas antes eran pequenas en estaturas, sin embargo no impedia que existiese algun individuo alto! a lo lejos un personaje como ningun otro... Un personaje que representaba el verdadero valor de un templario! un hombre de casi dos metros de altura con ADN conquistador, llega en 1147 para reclamar lo que es suyo por derecho!!! y se vienen una serie de combates sangrientos contra los Moros, y asi es que Alfonso Henrique se hace con esta zona, y construye este castillo!!🚙🏕️

Interesante recorrido por el castillo y datos históricos de importancia como el nombre del Pavo Real, que definitivamente hace honor a su nombre, creo que ningún rey se ha vestido con los lindos colores detalles que tienen las plumas de la cola, cuando esta se abren forman una especie de abanico hermoso con colores y adornos únicos, es un ave muy llamativo y con porte de realeza, el restaurante me gustó por su ubicación y hermosas vistas.

Pude ver tu video por otro medio, me pareció interesantísimo poder sentir tu emoción fue algo motivador. Creo que mi mensaje fue muy largo y desapareció ja,ja,ja, sentir la emoción de las personas con ese lenguaje corporal de entrega, de querer sabe más sobre el lugar. Esos cañones eran demasiado evidentes, sus huellas, poder pensar en todas las personas que defendieron ese país hacía quererme adentrar más a ese lugar. Gracias por estos recorrido.
