I read this article with great interest. I live in a rich industrial country in the middle of Europe. About 2% of the population works in agriculture. The rest of the population makes a living in industry or commerce. So far, we have imported what we needed.
But there is now a war between Ukraine and Russia. The market for oil, gas and agricultural commodities is collapsing.
It is quite possible that, out of necessity, we will start establishing city gardens ...

Hello @krakonos, it is difficult the situation you mention especially when it comes to agricultural items, is a great alternative these orchards, produce from home is healthier and does not require much investment as shown in the article, Even in agriculture creativity plays a fundamental factor when such alternatives are established.
