Do We Want AGI To Rule The Would?

There's one concern on my mind and it is how fast Artificial Intelligence is advancing. The tech companies are in a heated battle and the goal is to monopolize a big money industry called AI.

As they keep trying to impress investors with better updates and upgrades, eventually AI will outcompete humans in every sphere of life.

AI will soon become Godlike with the ability to do almost everything that we are limited to. Yes it sounds cool but is that what we want to have in our future?

OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman has talked about building artificial general intelligence (AGI), which could outthink humans. AGI goes further than what you see with Gemini and ChatGPT. It's not just about daily tasks, it has the potential and the power to run the world.

One blogger institution asked Elon Musk not to long ago, which president would win the US elections this year, he answered by saying, which robot will be our president?

It's very possible AGI can replace the work of the government in runn the economy and determine how resources are used in any country to bring progress.

I personally would love to see better leadership and perhaps robots or AGI can do a much better job at allocating resources to the right project to better a country than Donald Trump or Kamala Harris would.

But the public didn’t ask for AGI. Many people use AI tools today, but using their AI tools doesn’t mean we agreed to let tech companies decide the future for us. Just think about it, if AI is running a country, that means the big tech companies are the ones actually running the country and possibly the whole world.

It's a big decision and it's only fair that it involves everyone, not just a few CEOs of multi billion dollar cooperations.

Some people object to this opinion though. They say it's ok for the big tech companies to determine everything because the general public itself is not knowledgeable enough to weigh in on these decisions.

Whether we're smart enough or not, it affects our lives and our safety so it's our right to be part and perhaps one day there would be an election to determine whether we want a human president or AGI to rule us.

Maybe I'm overthinking this and maybe, AGI will be safe for all of us, but no matter what, I think there's a bit of a risk chance here.
