App release! - Bus Driver Devlog #6

Good day! How have you been? For the last several weeks I made many changes and prepared game for publishing. If you are watching this devlog the game is been published on Google Play.

And now what I’ve done. My friends tested game and found several bugs. You won’t believe but I spend on fixing them 25-30% of general development time!
Also I converted game to URP. It’s interesting that in URP there is inbuilt Post Processing Plugin.

So, after applying it the game still worked slowly. To understand what makes game work slowly I ran Profiler, and it showed that majority of time rendering takes place.

Do you remember my detailed models of houses? So, I deleted them and changed with these ones. And covered them with textures. Currently I can add many houses and it seems to be more involving.

Next, I started to find ways to enable Anti-aliasing. With experiments it became clear for me that I need to disable shadows at all.

And voila! The game with post-processing (bloom, color adjustments and vignette) worked almost without lags on my Meizu m5s. That’s awesome =)

Also as you might notice I changed terrain, and it looks now more smooth, also I wrapped it with texture.

So, my game is full with colorful houses, I was inspired by Norwegian architecture. And then I’ve found some nature sounds, and implemented it. Now it feels more complete.
My friends told me that it’s still boring. So, I made one more model of a guy, and a sheep.

You can meet them in game in different places. Shephard haunts sheep, and they walk in random direction but with AI, NavMeshAgent.
To make navigation in game more understandable I increased the height of mark points. That way you can notice them far away from above the trees and houses.

And now this game is available on Google Play. If you are interested, please try it your own, and, I’m waiting for your feedbacks. Bye!
