Political parties are deeply influenced by things called "Think Tanks." A Think Tank is a collective organization that develop policies and then lobbies for the policy.
Since these think tanks are artificial superficial entities ... one could describe describe them as a form of aritifical intelligence.
Modern think tanks take numerous polls and run different approaches to election campaigns through computer simulations. So we are closer the dystopic ideal of a society run my artificial intelligence than we care to admit.
