I guess MTN is generally bad in your area. It's also terrible here, but I just place my MiFi by a window to minimise obstructions. Maybe the same trick may work for you. However, mine is a different model, an older version. Yours should perform much better since it's a newer model.
The good side is that you better more out of your mobile phone, and makes it's easier to link up your PC without having to need your phone.
