Hi Hi!! I'm here to create a post about the larval stages of insects, in this experiment I included the famous tenebrio molitor (T. molitor), I have access to the life cycle of this spectacular insect since I sell in my store, in the larval phase for live food for many species of animals, from birds to lizards! In general, insects have to go through major morphological and physiological changes to reach maturity (adult stage), we can say that metamorphosis is a change of phases of insects to reach their sexual maturity! There are 2 types of metamorphosis, incomplete and complete! To summarize one goes through 3 stages and completes it through 4, the greatest example of it is the butterfly!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Em geral, os insetos tรชm que passar por grandes mudanรงas morfolรณgicas e fisiolรณgicas para atingir a maturidade (fase adulta), podemos dizer que a metamorfose รฉ uma mudanรงa de fases dos insetos para atingir a maturidade sexual! Before delving into the mealworm we must clarify a very important term in arthropods and it is (molt), we mammals are progressively changing our outer layer but in insects it does not happen the same! Your exoskeleton has the function of protecting you from damaged external factors! but since it is not a progressive change, it must be carried out over time periods, this is called (ecdysis)๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
Antes de nos aprofundarmos na larva da farinha, devemos esclarecer um termo muito importante em artrรณpodes e รฉ (muda), nรณs mamรญferos estamos mudando progressivamente nossa camada externa, mas em insetos nรฃo acontece o mesmo! Seu exoesqueleto tem a funรงรฃo de protegรช-lo de fatores externos danificados! mas, uma vez que nรฃo รฉ uma mudanรงa progressiva, deve ser realizada ao longo de perรญodos de tempo, isso รฉ chamado (ecdysis)๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ

And then why should hexapod arthropods change their exoskeletons? Well, because it reaches a height in its life cycle where it is a limitation to grow and reach its adults and for this they must get rid of the exoskeleton! Our famous insect has a weight of 1 gram and can measure up to 3 centimeters, this arthropod is one of the most used in the world of esteemed pets and is the world's most consumed insect by humans! Its common name in many countries is "mealworm" and belongs to the order of the Coleoptera! The T. molitor is developed at an industrial level in small farms with temperatures between 25 degrees and with very little light. The metamorphosis of the worm is classified as complete since it goes through 4 phases, among them egg, larva, pupa and beetle! temperature is decisive for its life cycle, for example with 27 degrees the cycle can be completed in 10 to 12 weeks! After copulating the female she lays her eggs! These can measure 1.5mm, they are usually buried in the soft ground!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚
O T. molitor รฉ desenvolvido em nรญvel industrial em pequenas fazendas com temperaturas entre 25 graus e com muito pouca luz. A metamorfose do verme รฉ classificada como completa por passar por 4 fases, entre elas ovo, larva, pupa e besouro! a temperatura รฉ decisiva para o seu ciclo de vida, por exemplo com 27 graus o ciclo pode ser concluรญdo em 10 a 12 semanas! The female usually lays hundreds of eggs, white and elongated! after 5 to 7 days they hatch giving metamorphosis to a larva! what is that you see in the photo! the larvae can measure up to 1.7mm, this phase for the worm takes about 6 to 7 weeks and makes an incredible 9 to 12 molts of the exoskeleton! reaching the last two weeks of the larval stage there is an exponential growth and can reach 28mm๐Ÿ˜ถ๐Ÿ˜ถ
A fรชmea costuma botar centenas de ovos, brancos e alongados! apรณs 5 a 7 dias eclodem dando metamorfose a uma larva! o que รฉ que vocรช vรช na foto! as larvas podem medir atรฉ 1,7 mm, esta fase para o verme leva cerca de 6 a 7 semanas e faz um incrรญvel 9 a 12 mudas do exoesqueleto! chegando ร s duas รบltimas semanas da fase larval hรก um crescimento exponencial e pode chegar a 28mm๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

This phase is the 3rd metamorphosis of the larva and is one of the stages where the insect is most vulnerable since it has no movements to escape predators! After approximately two weeks and if the environmental conditions are favorable, the pupa transforms into the last and fourth phase of metamorphosis, the beetle! it can measure up to 1.8mm! they are born white and when they reach sexual maturity they turn black! a beetle has a life expectancy of up to 3 months!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

The advantage of tenebrio is that it is 50% protein, it is a great alternative to beef for example! In many countries, tenebrio flour is already marketed, there are also energy bars with additions of the insect and even sports formulas can be created! the only thing that society has to overcome is the taboo! by consuming the animal! currently in my pet store I can sell more than 500gr of tenebrios a day for the consumption of estimated animals!๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚
