At first glance, the Stemonitis fusca looked like some red pieces of meat, and I had other impressions with the rest of the images. I think that’s what sparks more curiousity when you stumble on a post, and now I’ve learned that not all mushroom-looking species are indeed mushrooms.
My favourite part with this might just be how much knowledge is rooted in the biology of things. For example, the plasmodium adapting for survival when there’s a shortage of food and the developmental stages of each one.
I really enjoyed reading this post, especially with the awesome images. Thanks!
