We Need a Minnect Clone on Blockchain!

HIVE has some of the most amazing and unique experts whether you want to talk about investing, scientific research, health and medicine, conspiracy theories, programming, community building and many more niche topics. What if it was possible to allocate some of their time for you! This is far more reliable than making a comment. There are accounts that have not ever made a single article. It is unlikely that they will read your Memo.

On top of this, those who provide answers may not get much in return (monetarily speaking) and most of them have expenses to manage. This problem is magnified during a bear market. I have a solution for this. I am in no shape or form an investor of this system. You may have already seen similar services on Web 2. My suggestion is to build the Web 3 version on HIVE and provide the existing community another source of cryptocurrency earnings. Keychain can be one of the most important onboarding tools. MetaMask integration could be added later.

Have You Seen Minnect App?

The website has changed since the last time I came across it. The Android app has over 10K downloads already. Most users probably installed it out of curiosity. You can learn more on the website.

Minnect is the only app for influencers to connect 1-1 with fans over text, audio, and video, including 15 minute to 1 hour FaceTime calls. 95% of DMs go unanswered on Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms. Users can now guarantee a response from the industry expert or celebrity they admire the most by messaging them on Minnect, text back and forth with the expert and pay per text, or FaceTime the expert and pay per minute.

The Friction of Minnect

There is a need to download an app and then work on connecting bank accounts. The act of creating new accounts and centralized pain points along with high fees and slow speed of dealing with the traditional financial system is all there. Nobody own their own funds on Web 2. Accounts get frozen and there is little transparency wherever you look. Blockchain + smart contracts can drastically change this service for the better.

The Blueprints Already Exist

HIVE needs to adopt similar messaging and product design and work on the smart contracts to get the service working. Since HIVE is an application specific blockchain made as a decentralized social media, there are already many experts with their own following. Once there is an app for users to sell their time for cryptocurrency, it will become easier for HIVE to onboard larger creators.

At the moment, creators who are mid sized and above have very little to gain in terms of author rewards by being on HIVE. This may lead them give up easily and ignore HIVE. Naomi Brockwell has been around since August 5th of 2016. You can find her cross posting her content at @skycorridors and find the last comment to be from an year ago. I have never heard her mention anything about HIVE over the years.

There needs to be a strong incentive for experts and content creators to engage on HIVE and promote the blockchain to their audiences. One of the most well known and effective methods is adding large amounts of earnings into the equation. Patrick Bet-David charge $600 per hour on Minnect. Andrew Tate charge $500 and his brother Tristan charge $250. Even the lowest rate is at $1,000 per hour. A tenth of that will grab the attention of many people and that attention could be diverted to $HIVE $HBD $LEO or any other Token that is part of the ecosystem.

Do You Know About Nomadtask and HUNT?

Nomad Task is a on-demand task marketplace that can help you create marketing missions for your products, social channels, marketing content, app reviews, surveys, and much more. 250,000+ professional digital nomads from 150+ countries will complete your task, and help you achieve your marketing goal.

I delegated STEEM Power to @steemhunt and earned a significant sum of HUNT (which I later invested into $CUB and $POLYCUB). I remember there being a plan for a market where users can offer their services for cryptocurrency. Nomadtask started out as Reviewhunt. I have not kept up with the latest updates. You are welcome to read the newsletter for more updates. The website is alive and HUNT has been doing good over these years.

Do It Like Brave!

Brave has been my default browser for many years. Once support for Chrome Extensions was developed, it was an easy transition into a better browser. Brave has its own Basic Attention Token that is used to purchase ads and reward users. The buyers do not have to handle cryptocurrency on their own. A service fee can be charged for the convenience provided. It is even better to mark the prices with service fee included and offer a discount when paying with $HIVE or $LEO. I think @leofinance team will have a good chance at making a DAPP like this and bring demand for $LEO similar to how BAT receive a portion of its demand.

Statistics are taken from this website and I cannot vouch for its accuracy. I'm sharing the data as an example of what could happen with added demand.

Decouple from $BTC

It makes no sense for vastly different projects to correlate $BTC when they are focusing on entirely different niches and utilities. BAT has managed to remain less volatile compared to rest of the cryptosphere because of the utility it provide through Brave Ads. BAT has DeFi use cases with a lot more uses planed for future. We can expect this decoupling effect to be even stronger over the years.

We could end up achieving similar results while providing HIVE users better income during bear markets with the ability to pay experts for their time. A good UI/UX and few smart contracts to handle funds along with reviews on blockchain should be sufficient to launch. I would love to know what @khaleelkazi @theycallmedan or any other founder on HIVE think about this idea. We already have many experts with a wide variety of talents. For an example there are traders like @empoderat @@@scaredycatguide and @forexbrokr who have been posting about their trades on blockchain. Considering the past performance, I'm sure there are readers who would be happy to pay them to get their opinion on some trades.

In short, this is literally attention economy. Nowadays everything is business. I would not say that I like the concept, especially with those high rates. But this (the concept) is not entirely new. I have seen something similar on YouTube (and/or on Twitch) about the chat messages. People pay, so the content creator (or an automated voice) say their message in the livestream. Probably this approach could be also used on the Hive blockchain too.

It builds more engagement and diversify where the earnings come for the authors. At the moment authors depend on the votes of those with HIVE Power. Although there is a tipping feature on @peakd and through few other means, it is hardly being used. Being able to pay an author with a credit card or some other cryptocurrency through MetaMask could bring fresh money to the ecosystem.
