Gemini Ultra multi-modal AI is impressive, but one thing is fake in the tech demo.
Gemini Ultra, Googles neueste und bis jetzt beste multi-modale KI, kann sowohl Text als auch Audio, Bilder und Videos "verstehen" und das ist in dem Tech-Demo wirklich beeindruckend wie zum Beispiel das Hütchenspiel in dem Video.
Aber eine Sache ist Fake.
Im Video antwortet die KI praktisch in Echtzeit.
Das geht vielleicht, wenn ein Benutzer die gesamte Rechenleistung von Google für sich alleine zur Verfügung hat. Aber KIs skalieren im Moment nicht sehr gut auf Tausende oder Millionen User.
Berichten zu Folge ist Gemini Ultra sehr rechenintensiv und das ist auch ein Grund, warum Google vorläufig nur das schwächere Modell Gemini Pro ausrollen wird, das circa auf das Niveau von GPT-3.5 herankommt.
In der EU wird es die Google KI aber immer noch nicht geben.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Was hat euch im Tech-Demo am meisten beeindruckt?

Gemini Ultra, Google's latest and best multi-modal AI so far, can "understand" text as well as audio, images and video, and it's really impressive in the tech demo, such as the shell game in the video.
But one thing is fake.
In the video, the AI responds practically in real time.
That might be possible if a user had all of Google's computing power at their disposal. But AIs don't scale very well to thousands or millions of users at the moment.
According to reports, Gemini Ultra is very computationally intensive and this is also one reason why Google will only roll out the weaker Gemini Pro model for the time being, which comes close to the level of GPT-3.5.
However, Google AI will still not be available in the EU.

After watching this video, I realized that a person no longer needs to fly to other star systems in 300 years. It is enough to send robots with AI. They will assemble the best planetary research instruments at the place of arrival. And they will send all useful information to Earth via radio channel.

Unfortunately Google AI is not available in the EU, geo-blocked. Also its largest ultra model is not released to the public.
I have not tried it yet. I hope it is better than the latest text AIs that have disappointed me a lot.

The demo is pretty cool, but it sounds like it just needs to much calculating power to be practical. What's the issue with not being in the EU? Did they explain?
EU regulation but still strange why they are delaying the EU launch while other companies like Microsoft don't.

I think it's quite amazing but it's still only possible at a high cost. Technology will probably improve quite a bit and we might be able to see it at a affordable cost in the future.
