The Ethical Boundaries of Scientific Innovation: Gender Transition, Genetic Engineering, and Environmental Conservation
We live in a world that's rapidly evolving by the day, all thanks to the advent of technology and science, and via these two, the world has experienced groundbreaking innovation that has taken the world by storm and made us stand in awe at such an impact that has improved lives and reduced workloads on humans. However, despite all of these, we've also had situations where it seems as though this innovation of science has crossed the boundaries of ethics, and in this article, I'll love to take a delve into some pros and cons of scientific innovation.
Before I delve into that, I'll first love to share my take on how, growing up, I used to be thrilled by technology and science's impact on our world. I mean, come to think of it, there were loads of problems that lasted centuries without a solution until science and technology came into the picture and changed the narrative, and I can remember how I, as a child, envisioned myself growing up to be a scientist who discovered the cure for some deadly diseases such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, hepatitis, and the like. Well, obviously, I didn't chase a career in that field now that I'm an adult, but I'm still hopeful for that breakthrough, and that's definitely because of my love and empathy for humanity.
So without further ado, let's get to the focal point of today, and I'll be starting with an aspect. I personally believe scientific innovation has crossed the bridge of ethical boundaries in experimenting and excelling in this aspect, and that's none other than the aspect of gender transition and genetic engineering. It's quite disheartening, in my opinion, that such is promoted and encouraged in our world today. Although, to be fair, genetic engineering still has some good aspects, the same isn't the case for gender transition.
What I mean by having its good aspects is that, for instance, a human who's a victim of one incident or another such as fire or acid burn can easily go under the knife to modify their genes, moving one skin from one part of their body to cover another where there are scars, but through the years we've come to see the highest population of those who under go genetic engineering surgery, not accident victims but people who want to modify one part of their body or another, and going on the street, you see a society filled with people with big fake ass and bums. It's just disgusting, in my opinion.
While that's even manageable, the aspect of gender transition is one I don't buy. The idea and belief science has gone too far in making this a reality. I mean, you'll see someone wake up one day identifying themselves as the other gender or, far worse, as an animal. I don't think this is ethical, and I believe it bridges the gap between fairness and respect for the other gender.
Come to think of it, I remember reading the news of how a man who went transgender to a woman went on to win loads of medals in the women's category or swimming, not to that of the one who went on to win a beauty pageant award. In my opinion, this bridged the ethical and fairness gap and diminished the potential of the other gender, and if it were possible, I'd bring such a thing to a complete halt.
On the other hand, the aspect I believe needs more attention from scientists is the area of environmental conservation. It's no longer news that we undergo climate change and environmental degradation that pose a huge threat to our plants and the ecosystem at large, and it's time for scientists to place more priorities on how to conserve the world from dying via all of these environmental threats that pose danger to our world and humans food, health, and general sustainability on earth.
Doing this would give us hope that future generations won't be coming onto a dying planet that's not sustainable for humans. It'll also mitigate the threat posed by climate change and the like, look for ways to generate clean air and water that safeguard the heritage of our world, and make the earth a safe haven for future generations of humanity.
That's about all for now, I hope you enjoyed the read and see this in the same light like I do, do have a wonderful day ahead and stay bless.

Agree with much of what you said.
Just because we can do something doesn't mean we should do something.
Regarding the Male/Female debate I am of the opinion that people should be one or the other and its pretty much genetically determined at birth. There are some rare instances of chromosomal differences where people aren't either XX or XY (female / male) such as XXY (Kleinfelter syndrome) where they have XX (female) and XY (male) which can lead them in a which one am I scenario. For those people I'm all for helping nature along.
For the rest. I guess since its possible if people have the money for it then I suppose let them do it. For those who get the surgery done from government money I'm a lot less supportive of that. (sigh) but that's a discussion for a different day.
As for science helping the environment. I'm all for that...but changing peoples hearts to make them more aware and desire to help more could do as much or more than any scientific breakthrough
Just my two cents worth.
Thanks for writing.
Yea you're right on point on these;
In the rear cases, helping is idea but other than that I don't personally think it's ethical.
but like you said, other aspects such as enhancing the mind of people to create a community of empathetic people would go a long way same way priotizing research in environment conservation would safe our planet.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
👏 Keep Up the good work on Hive ♦️ 👏

Yes, everyone is entitled to have an opinion. The fact is that moral values are constantly changing over time. Contrary to what many people believe, they are not constant or universal and have been changing since the dawn of civilization. You can find in the tabloids of Mesopotamia, 4000 - 5000 thousands of years back in history, records of people complaining about how the new generation does not respect the "good old values", while people in the 21st century naively believe that this is something new and woke.
That's another aspect to look at this, and of a truth, we've ethical values that varies based on the culture, location and time.
Just that I felt something should be each In the sight of everyone, especially on the path of transgender and the likes.
I must say I agree with all that you said. Especially the one of gender transition, am against that one just because we have the money doesn't mean we have to do whatever we like.
That's absolutely correct, many people delve into something because they can afford it.
gender transition is even looking down on God our creature...it's a sin if u ask me.. like God doesn't know what he is doing? Science went far on this and foolishly, people are still going for it
Environmental conservation sounds great...our future generation wouldn't suffer the negative effect of science should pay more attention on that
It's seriously annoying, aside that it defeats the idea of fairness, a man who transform into a woman still has the gene and strength of men and would out perform actual women in sporting activities due to that traits.
I believe scientists shouldn’t have cross the line of gender transition. It’s said to say that people start identifying as things they aren’t. Imagine if I identified as a major general, will the army believe I’m one. It goes that way, but scientists have help people bring their delusions into reality.
They should focus more on cure of diseases
That's just it, I'm serious disgust by scientists who went this far and hope they stop and focus on important things that aids human lives.
Same here
That's an important point.
You have responded to the prompts with great insights. Genetical engineering entered taking shape of cosmetic surrgeries has become a big question if ethical concerns.
