RE: The fallacy of such thing as "profits" in Hive.

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I think your calculation is a bit flawed. I would only take the hours into account that you actually spend using Hive, posting, commenting or voting. Then the numbers get better.
And on any other social media platform the number is exactly 0.

Yep, I admit my calculation may be a bit flawed. But I reckon yours might be even more faulty. };)

Because, what about all the time spent in content "curation" and reading a lot of crap worth to upvote and/or get inspiration to write your own posts? You wouldn't count these hours for your hourly fee calculation?

Then the numbers get better.

Well, in my particular case I think not much better. Because believe it or not, I am one of those rarities who has invested his time 24/7 on Hive for over eight years now.

And on any other social media platform the number is exactly 0.

Ah, how it is obvious you haven't used TikTok with the Spider Filter yet.

No, sorry I never use Tiktok. How one can earn there using a disgusting filter? I thought the creator of the filter earns something?

I am here since even 7 years, but I had figured out that you need to boost your own stake plus get connected to other people with some minimum stake before the rewards are meaningful in any way. You can check my rewards over time, they were minimal in the beginning and increased over time. It is like in real life, you aren´t going anywhere without putting some money in. Like a travel by feet is possible but it takes much longer than in a car.
Complaining about the small rewards on Hive is like complaining that by walking by feet takes ages to reach another continent. I am exaggerating but I hope you get what I mean.

But you are right, even now my rewards are much less than the ones of my real-life profession. It is a hobby rather.

Yeah, the creator of the filter and many creative user too.

Try it, you have nothing to lose. Treat it as if you were playing a game of chess and you start with a queen's gambit with white and the other player applies the Caro-Kann defense.

Yup, that's true. But many here actually need to know that not everyone is in conditions nor can boost their own stake easily plus get connected to other people with some minimum stake if they wish.

You can check my rewards over time, they were minimal in the beginning and increased over time. It is like in real life, you aren´t going anywhere without putting some money in. Like a travel by feet is possible but it takes much longer than in a car.

Yeah, I guess we all started in the same way if we were really cautious and careful enough. But as for putting some money in, again, not everyone has the same opportunities.

Complaining about the small rewards on Hive is like complaining that by walking by feet takes ages to reach another continent. I am exaggerating but I hope you get what I mean.

Of course I understand what you mean. I just hope that you also understand what I'm trying to explain to you. Because in fact, nobody here is really complaining about anything.

Without a doubt, walking by foot from one continent to another would take ages. But I hope you know that there are many who have no other choice.

But you are right, even now my rewards are much less than the ones of my real-life profession. It is a hobby rather.

Exactly! A hobby! And that's all what I wanted to signify and highlight in this post in relation to what we could call "true profits" in Hive. };)
