A ROBOT FOR MY FARM PRACTICE YEAR IN SCHOOL: A Robot That's A Farmer.

I will be resuming 400 level in Uni this year, maybe mid December and I really pray it's not exactly like what our predecessors says it used to be. I really don't what to think about it but I can't help it since it is sooner than expected.

WHAT'S FARM PRACTICE YEAR ?

This is a time and year which students (all agric students) in my school have their full practicals, they spend the whole year on the farm taking care of plants and animals. And they keep record of every activity that goes on in the farm be it plant or animal section; the book in which they write down the record is called a Log Book.

I don't know too much about how to write the farm records, I'll get to know more when I resume as FPY student (Farm Practice Year). I really look forward to doing all of those things because I need the experience since I am studying Animal Breeding and Genetics already, it would be an additional knowledge as I get to interact with animals, and plants too.

FPY students must be dressed in a dark green jumpsuit, farm boots, cutlass and a hat . This has been the standard since I got admission into the Uni and I don't think it will be changed anytime soon.

Why I Want A Robot For My Farm Practice Year

The first reason for wanting a robot that can perform tasks relating to the agricultural sector is that robots don't get tired like we humans do.

The FPY session is really full of work ranging from going inside the school forest to cut down bamboo trees to clearing of bushy fields to cutting of grass to packing the dungs of cattles (more than 100+ cattles) to finding and formulating feeds for farm animals, etc. And, we still have to keep record of all these activities, urghh!!.....

We also need to move from one location to another, it's literally like moving from one end of the University to the other; and university land is very large I guess it's about 10,000 hectares or so. A robot won't feel the pain if it were created for this purpose of moving around on farms and doing farm activities.

One serious thing about this FPY is that students are asked to contribute money for one thing or another like money to get feed ingredients; though it depends on the farm manger that's teaching. I pray God helps me, my friends and team members with more than enough funds to partake in these contributions.

I really want a robot that can do all that I've mentioned above. I don't want to be as stressed as the previous students used to be, tired, darker and slimmer, I really don't want any of these for myself and friends too. I wish there could be a robot to perform these farm tasks efficiently without having me staying all day on the farm.

I pray God blesses me, my family, friends and team members abundantly with resources needed to pass this FPY seesion with ease and comfort AMEN
