I hate cartoon-style icons; it's the reason I keep my Google icons hidden in a separate folder, so I can't see them. They trigger me lol Google make great products, but using them makes me feel like a child with crayons.
Some may say it's just an aesthetic, but it matters. I still mainly use Microsoft products because their productivity tools have professional-looking icons. It makes me feel more professional and productive.
One recent update I do really like is the screen rotation update. It's now much more intuitive and doesn't need a rotation lock button. Watching YouTube in bed on my tablet is much easier now.

hehehe I definitely regret updating them too soon but I was curious enough to explore the options. I just think that they are wrong in making the icons looking as if we're all kids. Either way, they are not for everyone and I guess after some critiques, they might re-think about that particular icon styles.
