New theory about “red dots”

They were discovered by the James Webb Space Telescope in 2022 and since then they have been a headache for astronomers because they challenge the understanding of how galaxies and black holes were formed in the early universe. Researchers Abraham Loeb and Fabio Pacucci explain that it could be those red dots, in the deep space image they would be the reddest dots in the image above, the faintest, unfortunately.

This is a real image of the James Web and these researchers claim that these points could be halos of dark matter with a very low spin. What is this spin? In physics, spin is an intrinsic property of subatomic particles such as electrons, protons, photons, and we could say that it is like the rotation around the axis of that particle, although saying that we usually interpret the particle as a ball is not very correct either, but it could be a reference image.

Having a very low spin would mean that it has little or no rotation, that is, its quantum state is the same from any direction and from any point, let's say that it does not move, that it is not rotated and that it is spherically symmetric, therefore and it also implies that it does not act magnetically, an example of a particle with zero spin, that is, not that it has low, but zero, would be the Higgs boson or the God particle, which they supposedly say gives mass to the other particles, although in reality This is not the case, it is the Higgs field, which gives mass to the particles and the Higgs boson would be the carrier of that property.

In this case of the new theory, they would not have these particles that form the red dots that would make up all of that, they would not have zero, they would have it very low, the red dots according to these researchers would be galaxies that are not visible mainly, because they are very far away, it is when the universe would only be 1 billion years old, we see what would be the faint halo of those concentrated galaxies.

The astronomers had two doubts, one, those red dots could be black holes that are eating matter, it would be incoherent because they would have to be gigantic, or two could be galaxies, but their stars are very concentrated, it would not be coherent either because they would have to be extremely concentrated, the stars would have to be almost touching.

According to these researchers, what happens is that these tiny galaxies, which are 10 times smaller than a normal current galaxy, are compacted due to these halos of dark matter that rotate around them, but they rotate at a slower speed, which compacts these galaxies, making the stars or black holes more concentrated.

They say that, since all the matter is concentrated in that galaxy due to this phenomenon, to those halos of dark matter, two things can happen: one, that the stars are obviously closer or two, that the super massive black holes that are in the center of those galaxies have more “food” and therefore are eating much more quickly and shining more intensely. with which this brightness is formed that can reach us from so far away when the universe was only 1 billion years old.
