What is really happening here?, this image is from July 15, it was captured by amateur David Wilson from Invernness, Scotland, he is an advanced amateur, there are hundreds of thousands of amateurs in the world, and everything also depends on the equipment you have, if you have binoculars, you can observe many things, but the more you invest in your equipment, the more amazing and strange things you will be able to observe.

In this case he is an advanced amateur and managed to see something that is normally captured only with large, powerful observatories, the core of the sunspot is pulsating regularly and emitting circular waves across the solar surface, it is like throwing stones in a pond, but constantly.

Astronomers already know this, it is not a strange phenomenon, they call it threshold flashes and it is generally only seen with powerful telescopes, the thing is that astronomers do not understand why this happens. The only theory at the moment is that the solar gas falls towards the core of the sunspot and when it reaches the bottom of the spot, the gas rebounds, the spot is a little lower than the rest of the solar surface and in that rebound is when luminous shock waves are formed that propagate through the center in concentric circles, but it is a very rare phenomenon that still does not have a concrete explanation, this is simply a speculation that astronomers have, but they still do not know why this happens.
