If it's 50 years, then it might be possible, but that is a long time to wait. However, I can't see it happening right now.

If Elon Musk gets to be alive 50 years from now, I still don't think it's going to be possible to colonize Mars. Perhaps he might not even live to see it. A lot of people will not be alive to see it.
