They Stole My Idea: Can You Recover Sound From Images?

Dude! I had this idea like 20 years ago. But I did nothing with it. Nothing. The idea:
Extract sound from a video by tracking subtle vibrations in the video frames over time.
I want to emphasize how I did nothing. I didn't research it. I didn't write a single line of code. I didn't even learn how to fourier transform (if that's even applicable). I often hear people say they have an idea. But they don't do anything. They didn't steal my idea. Likely, I wasn't even the first person to even think of it.
We didn't believe you at first, but we asked like three people who were at that party. They not only corroborated your story, but even said you totally mentioned wanting to start a company someday. Sorry! If this isn't enough money, let us know.

using special high FPS camera. (Samsung S10+ can do 960FPS for 0.4sec)
You might was well consider that recording a laser bouncing of a reflecting object is an implementation of the same idea.
You gotta start somewhere. But yes, these implementations are contrived.
edited my comment because CD grooves doesn't come from actual sound. The fist vinyl were though.
Here's a blast from the past that has similarities from the video you posted.
Another very cool and somewhat similar idea I heard of a while back was an attempt to extract sound from ancient pottery. The idea was that voices other sounds would be recorded in the pottery as it was being made much like recording on a wax record. I'm not sure if there was ever much success or not... I would think extracting sound from video would require some pretty high resolution video...
Yeah, they made an episode of The X-Files around that idea.
The idea may be even older than 20 years, as it's not spectacular in any way. We've known for quite a long time that sound is vibrations, and that those vibrations can be visualized. I don't think for a second someone didn't have that idea as soon as photography became available.
What a delightfully ingenious way to eavesdrop.
I wonder how good the quality becomes after pumping a billion dollars into the project.
