I always feel a mental ping when there is a questionable assumption being taken. Don't we often get our facts from collatoral statements like this? I also see news reports, from outlets that must know better, neglecting answer obvious questions. For instance, Israel rejects Hamas counter-offer for peace. What was the offer Hamas rejected? First report I heard didn't even mention Israel's offer. Even if their offer was "give us your heads and your people will live", it should be included.
This is why I liked the crowd-fact format because it is possible to micro-investigate things like this and be digestible. If I do more posts like this then I will try to spam the communities and such, unless that is considered bad nettiquette here.
One has to be careful too with crowd "facts". i think a "Trusted Reputation" score for members of the crowd taking part in / voting within a consensus meeting to determine what is fact, would be very valuable to getting achieving accuracy. The reputation score, which could increase partly by due to knowledge tests on the subject in question being passed, could be used to give access to voting and/or weight the power of the vote.
This goes back to that unfinished series by blocktrades about a network of trust. Setting your own weights for people is where I'd go. You can even bring in proprietary algorithms if you like, bringing in something like Editors Picks where you get to pick the editor. This is going beyond fact checks, but same idea. If you trust the take that X has with their fact-checking or that from another platform, this is only the top level of a fact check. Important to have open discussion in that context if one wants to dig deeper. Like a medical study with an abstract, sometimes you find the data did not really support the conclusion.
I think crowd facts is missing that top-level where you learn the truth score.

In my opinion, a well formed system which includes anonymous community consensus discussion and voting in small groups (8PACs = 8 People in Active Communication), Web of Trust (Trusted Reputation system which is affected by ones actions in the Community DAO) and a Tokenomics system which rewards members actions by minting tokens, can help humanity to resolve most local and world problems.
But first we have to choose to learn and use such a system.
Very few seem willing and able to do so.
Fortunately it only takes a very few.

Yes, there is something quite specific. It's still in blueprint/refinement stage.
There's a lot too it. It will require quite some time to absorb the information written about The Matrix-8 Solution and how the different parts inter-relate, and the huge potential it has to bring many solutions to local and world-wide problems.
In addition to the system itself (a unique type of Community Governance system) there's are some visions of how to recruit masses via a Cause Funding platform, a book-series, a play to learn to earn interactive online game, and a movie/series.
