If you carefully look at all the Image; You would have noticed the following pattern is being followed::

A + E = C

C / E = B

A - B = D

Now that you compute the value for the figure in question you should be able to solve the puzzle.

Thanks for running these competitions, its great to be a winner of something for once! Here is my go at this weeks quiz

I think the answer is -2
The change from the previous number is +1 , - 2 , +3 , -4 , +5 , -6
In equation form Xn = X(n-1) + (-1)^n* (n-1)
So the seventh number X7 = 4 + -1 * 6 = -2

yep, clearly -2 is the next in the sequence

Subtracting the number from the previous number gives me 1,-2,3,-4,5 so the next difference should be -6.

Therefore the next number in the sequence is -2

It's alternating between + and -

first, third and fifth step are + (1, 3 and 5 respectively)
second, fourth and sixth step are - (2, 4 and 6 respectively)

So 4-6= -2!
