the lower the value of the people of a country, the more likely that country will be attacked. Why I think this is because a country has resources and if the value of the people is as low as the value of the land, then it can be attacked and the people lost, without losing the value of the land.

Pretty much sums up the plight of the Palestinians. The West wants that land to help engineer a new canal through Israel to bypass Hormuz. Gaza was directly on the path of least resistance through the Judean desert from Red Sea to the Mediterranean.
