It's funny because we did not have the Internet available to the public when I was growing up, so computers weren't even a household thing either. So. we didn't have those things to keep us inside and unsocial. Game systems were coming into there own when I was a teenager though and started a trend I think.
Getting out and socializing is super important. I used to not do it and my only interaction was with my wife and those I dealt with online. It was not good for me. I finally broke myself free from being online so much and got myself active offline again and it has helped me so much mentally and physically.

Like I said with me was during my teens. during my under 10s the virtual world was just about Atari and other initial videogames, but still we required to be with other kids to play with! But my childhood had a lot of sports (especially soccer, our passion in Brazil) and kids games like hide and seek even living in an apartment building. I think kids nowadays are more exposed to a diversity of options to access virtual world that we didn't had. Probably I would be lost if I grew in an environment like we find in most homes today
