RE: 15-09-2025-Materials Technologies - Quantum Numbers[EN]-[IT]

love how the 2p_z example makes the abstract rules click, and yes it even reads like a WiFi name. The bit that bigger n means higher energy and farther from the nucleus is the key probablity compass for me when comparing shells and sublevels. Your clear link between shape from l and orientation from m turns a fuzzy orb#ital into something I can picture.

Thanks amr008, I try to communicate science, but I admit I need to improve. I'm glad you noticed the example I gave in this article. Another practical exercise could be the following:
What are the possible quantum numbers for an electron with n = 3?
(n) n = 3 indicates that we have energy levels in the third shell.
(l) so l can be: 0 (s), 1 (p), 2 (d)
(ml) if l = 0 then ml = 0, if l = 1 then ml = -1, 0, +1, if l = 2 then ml = -2, -1, 0, +1, +2
(ms) for each orbital it is +½ or -½.
