Neurovegetative Thoughts: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity

(Edited)

Hi.

I have been touched by thoughts....regarding AI and I cannot sleep....:) I am amusing myself (crying-laughing-worrying-hoping---going through an entire ancient tragedy:), but I'm also serious about writing this article.

😁🤣😅

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been a topic of interest for scientists since the 1950s when it was first defined. AI has evolved significantly since then, and today it is used in numerous ways, from video games to banking systems, and even self-driving cars on the streets. AI has become an interesting topic of discussion in terms of the impact it can have on humanity and society. This article will focus on the role of AI for humanity and the challenges it foreshadows.

AI can have many benefits for humanity. First, AI can accelerate and optimize the decision-making process. This is particularly important in areas such as the economy, public policies, education, or health. AI can help make more informed and efficient decisions, which can have a positive impact on society. Also, AI can help increase productivity by automating many processes. AI can also help solve complex social problems such as global pollution, climate change, and emigration.

Despite the benefits that AI can bring, there are also challenges associated with it. One of the biggest challenges is concern about data security and privacy. Nowadays, there is a lot of data stored in AI systems and therefore it is very important that this data is kept safe and confidential. There are also concerns about automated decision-making by AI systems. They can make decisions that can negatively affect people and can be difficult to control. There are also concerns about the economic impact of AI and the creation of new jobs.

GUESS WHAT?

I haven't changed my writing style, I still use longer sentences. But a few of the above paragraphs were automatically generated by an online AI-based tool, ChatGPT, which can be accessed by any internet user.
Internationally, important publications have given ample space to discuss the success of the chatbot launched on November 30 by the OpenAI company, whose level, although impressive, seems to be far below that of the LaMDA project led by Google.
The fact that the average user was able to access AI in 2022 to generate images, audio and text suddenly raised the level of awareness of the impact that technology has and will have on humanity. Unlike a human, who has physical limitations and is mortal, no matter how powerful or influential he may be, AI is a sum of tools developed in parallel by the most important companies and states in the world. Even if some of them would like to restrict or stop certain developments, there will be others who will seek to exploit the virtually unlimited capabilities of AI.

NET-AI-CATION

In the case of ChatGPT, an AI-based application, only a few weeks were needed to show that, among other impacted fields, education will fundamentally change as a result of its emergence. In many countries, pupils and students are already giving reports (with mainly good results, because the valuable content is mixed with an invented one) made in this environment, which is still not connected to the Internet and has data sources updated only until 2021. Some teachers noted inadvertences in otherwise excellently written texts, but which still suffer in making very complex correlations. Meta, the company that owns Facebook, recently pulled a demo of Galactica, its own chatbot, because it frequently generates false information.

Ranting and accepting it.

In this extremely short time, tools also appeared, also based on AI, to detect whether the content is real or generated by such a chatbot. But, to stay only with content generation, the offer is too tempting to be bypassed by the average user and is being refined day by day: applications that answer emails for you, chat with potential partners (business or romantic ), or help you excel in formulating your thoughts and paraphrasing original ideas in such a way as to avoid a quote or a rephrasing process.

My last 2 cents here:

Whether we are followers of transhumanism or not, in the coming years, AI will be the technology with the most radical impact on humanity (besides blockchain), and not only the future depends on how humanity (as we understand it today) will manage this and adapt to it, but its very survival - the survival of humanity.

It might be a scary belief...but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Just a final thought:
Will we ever have AI tools on Hive Engine or in Leofinance?

Thank you for reading!

With respect,

Zpek

I also share the belief that humanity is on a crossroad with AI, how we adapt to it will determine to a certain extent the trajectory of humanity in the future. The dilemma is that there isn't a really right or wrong answer.

Yes, non-dual perspectives adapt with time, depending on the balance benefits-disadvantages. Time will tell. Thank you so much for reading and offering your input!
