Introducing ART OF GROWING

Hi friends, greetings of the day! This is an intro-post.

My full name is Vijayakumar Narayanan. People who knew my work fondly calls me Father of Indian Aquaponics. You may please call me VKN.

Here is my short bio:

Present: I have 10+ years of hands-on experience as an early adopter of Integrated Aquaponics System (IAS) farming technology. My interest areas include but are not limited to commercial integrated farming; training, consulting, speaking, franchising IAS technology; cooking traditional food; nonduality and more.

For the last couple of years, I have been working with various teams in planning and designing the agricultural belt of an entire social complex of The Venus Project (https://www.thevenusproject.com/food-agriculture/). My work on that include scalable IAS solutions for the execution of various agricultural methods and practices of cultivating the soil, producing crops and raising fish poultry and livestock and in varying degrees the preparation and marketing of the resulting products to Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) subscribers.

Past: Fifteen years of managerial experience in heading/managing large teams with overall business operations, P&L, strategic planning and overall responsibilities. Instrumental in starting up and operating several BPO companies in India, Oman, and Bahrain. Prior to that, a Soldier and Education Instructor in Indian Army Educational Corps for eight years.

Knowledge is always limited! I am here to opensource whatever knowledge I have learned, experienced and found it useful on the above subjects - Art of Growing | Knowledge Opensource!

For starters, I plan to make one weekly post or more and to answer all your questions on growing healthy food locally for self, family, your neighboring community or for the market needs.

Hello vkn, thank you for the short because I tried pronouncing your name and I failed😉

Hello on this mighty fine day and nice to meet you! I found your account because I got a message you are new, and because the beginning can be difficult I swung by with some tips.

You took the step to become a blogger and that’s great. I like to welcome you to the Hive blockchain and platform. A very extensive platform of fun and words.

As of now you are a hiver or newBee as we are calling ourselves. This moment is perfect to give some tips and help you get started.

Also maybe you used the #introduceyourself tag and more hivers come with tips and tricks so the first steps won’t be that difficult. Still take your time because we are so diverse it will take some time to understand and earn.

I was welcomed with good advice too when I started so here I am just returning the favour. I know that Hive may seem very overwhelming right now but don't worry. After a few blogs and write ups you will be a great blogger and contributor, just stay away from texts that aren’t yours.

A great tip is getting discord. Discord will for sure help you and get you talking to other hivers without going to comments on blogs. It’s free and quick and alongside hive very helpful to have. If you don’t have discord already view this blog:

Very important is to never give up any off your passwords , they are yours! Never give them up!!

To blog I use Peakd and Ecency .
Ecency also has an App , I use it and it is great, it gives you insight on what is happening in your account, and on my phone I am never behind on the things I want to see or read.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your passwords; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.
