Exercising against depresssion - Go GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid)

A few weeks ago, I wrote about a book that I am reading that deals with how exercising is extremely good for your brain. In other words, if you want to remain smart and if you want your brain the be healthy, it is very important to move your body.

But, there is way more to the topic than just that. For example, here the other day I read about how we have something called GABA in our bodies. This is a neurotransmitter, and it is highly affecting the way we feel. For example, if the amount of GABA in our bodies increases, it will help us feel good and relaxed, while a decrease in GABA in our bodies will make us feel stressed and it might also make us feel depressed.

Do you know that you can buy GABA as a health supplement. According to Wikipedia, many people thought it only had a placebo effect for a long time, but now they seem to believe that it actually helps. But, you don't necessarily need to take GABA as a health supplement if you want to be happy. Do you know why?

If you exercise, if you run, if you do muscle training, and move your body, it will increase the presence of GABA in your body, and it will help you feel more relaxed and happy at the same time.

That is also why exercising is one of the best tools against stress!

Exercising is win-win!

Moving your body is a win-win task for you and your body. Not only will it help you stay fit, which again will help you live a longer life. And if you stay healthy, you will stay thing, which again will have a positive effect. It might not be true, but in my country, they say that a very high percentage of those who have died from Covid were overweight. No matter what, being overweight will never have a good effect on your health!

But, not only will your body be more healthy... it is also helping your brain!

Exercising should be part of each person's life habits, because it helps us feel better and keep our bodies in good working order. And it can also be very fun if you participate in a joint program of a Pilates class, Zumba or similar things, because apart from everything we are generating contact with other people, exploring new things and learning.

Exercise helps, tell me it helped me overcome depression (you can read my last post). That's why I stopped, because I had just posted about moving against depression.

I didn't know about GABA. I will do more research on it.
