I could say that Meta has had this vision for some time now, due to the fact that they acquired the headset company Oculus for $1.6 billion, plus they have n a partnership with an augmented reality company.
A few months ago I was reading about how difficult it is to create nanochips and how Europe was concerned about its dependence on China where the prenuptial manufacturers are located, in fact, the president of El Salvador also mentioned his interest in creating universities that allow young people to learn these technologies.
There is a great need for the development of these specialized chips and there are few manufacturers, so how will the creation of a decentralized metaverse be possible?

Because hardware is really a necessity for the connection to the metaverse, the idea of a decentralized metaverse also carries the approach of creating tools that allow the connection of users to the metaverse. One of the achievements so far is Kong Land who proposes a DAO system to develop technologies for the metaverse.
In turn, we have seen the development in the blockchain of virtual realities where there is this interaction between users and share simultaneous data and information in real-time, so the creation of digital spaces does not seem a major impediment, a possible major difficulty is scalability, however, one of the biggest challenges at this time is the creation of hardware.
It is very likely that more decentralized solutions will continue to be sought in this new area of development to overcome the challenges and allow citizens to have more options to choose from in terms of the metaverse. This is a very new area and is likely to become even more competitive because of the estimated value of the metaverse market; according to Matthew Ball, an investor in this technology, he estimates that in a decade the metaverse could be worth as much as $30 billion.
