Low Carb Diets For High Intensity Running And Introducing VespaPower

I recently joined forces with Vespa Power as a brand ambassador thinking the brand was already a name endurance athletes knew about and my job would simple be a process of handing out some samples, explaining to other athletes how I use the product in my own training and racing, and giving people the confidence to give it a go for themselves.

Being a healthy athlete is something I am passionate about and working with Vespa was a bit of a no brainer, but the problem is, there are a lot of people who have simply never heard about the product before, or have heard of the benefits of being a low carb athlete.

I found out about Vespa in 2015 when I had moved to a low carb diet to see if there was a way that I could help the process of burning fat as fuel. To get straight to the point, Vespa is a peptide that acts as a natural catalyst which accelerates fat metabolism by working with your body’s physiology and help you burn fat as fuel.

For me personally, I also saw a massive change in my health when I moved away from a diet that revolved around carbohydrates and started to eat healthier, low carb whole foods. I stopped being constantly hungry and craving carbs, I was no longer bloated, I was recovering better, and I was able to increase the amount of training I was doing without the need to fuel.

My move to a low carb diet had been brought about by the growing amount of research around endurance performance and low carb diets, with a large number of articles filtering through to the mainstream. But even for me at the time there are a number of concerns stopping athletes from leaving their carbohydrates behind, with one of the major issues of concern being that a low carbohydrate diet cannot support high intensity activities.

I am glad I made the change even if there was a bit of descussion around drawbacks or even myths that this was not the best decision for my athletic performance.

This is where new research published in "Frontiers in Nutrition" seems to support the idea that low carbohydrate diets can also support high intensity activities. The study showed that after 31 days of their subjects being on a low carbohydrate, high fat (LCHF) diet, they were able to complete a 1-mile time trial and a tough interval workout (6 x 800 meters) with results similar to when they were following a high carb, low fat (HCLF) diet.

Hopefully this gives you some extra confidence in moving towards a low carbohydrate diet and like I mentioned earlier Vespa can play a part in helping you with this.

At the moment they are doing a promotion where you can try Vespa for free check it out their "Beat the Bonk" challange here https://beatthebonk.com/?ref=277

Vespa will help you :
Stop hitting the wall, or "bonking," during your long runs or races.
