The Danger Zone of The Internet

Note: I will be writing my articles in both English and Spanish now. The Spanish translation will be written at the bottom. Apologies in advance for any grammatical errors in the Spanish translation. Spanish is not my first language and most of what is written will be put through a translation software.

Normal web browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge only show us 5% of the websites on the internet. That 5% is known as the Surface Web. The Surface Web is what contains the common everyday websites such as, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Reddit, and PeakD. But that is just a very small fraction of what is on the Surface Web. The Deep Web and the Dark Web is where the remaining 95% of websites are contained. Both require a special web browser to access the sites there. The Deep Web is where you start to find personal info of others, and most likely your own info which was most likely stolen and sold by large companies for profit or it was stolen in a data breach. “You can also find legal documents along with financial records.” Source: https://traversals.com/blog/surface-web/ . The Dark Web is where things start to become illegal. Activities such as Human Trafficking, Drug Trafficking, Illegal Gambling, Ghost Gun Markets, Identity Forging, Hitmen For Hire, and Illegal Porn are just a few of the illegal activities that you can find on the Dark Web. Tor is a common browser used to access the Deep Web and the Dark Web. One of the reasons why it is so dangerous to be on the Dark Web is that you are more likely to become a victim of Malware and/or Ransomware. In Conclusion, the Deep and Dark Web is where you can find many of the most dangerous and illegal websites on the Internet.

Insane that the surface web is only 5% of the entire web. No one could have thought.

Yes, many don’t realize this. Maybe we should look to curate little rhino’s piece to get the word out😀

I have heard about the dark web a couple of times and I have been left awed each time. Difficult to imagine that as Huge as the 'surface web' is, it is still only 5% of the entire web. A curious mind would want to have a peep into what the 95% looks like really but it appears too dangerous a mission.
