The Eagle Nebula

This is a stunning image off the Hubble of the 'Pillars of Creation'; the star-forming nursery which lies at the heart of the Eagle Nebula.
The Eagle Nebula, is one of the first star-forming regions to be seen from the Earth.
The pillars themselves are composed of interstellar hydrogen gas and dust from the nebula, that are being eroded by nearby hot stars.
The larger pillar is approximately four light years in length, and the protrusions at the top of the clouds are larger than our solar system.
