Technology, innovation and artistic creation in times of armed conflict

In view of the warlike events that reign in humanity these days, it is important to remember that there are expectations in relation to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, considering that for more than three decades, these governments have publicly expressed their intentions of warlike attacks, so that, in view of this unfortunate reality, we must ask ourselves: Where is the technology, innovation, artistic creation and knowledge for the development of these two countries?

In a couple of weeks a new political cycle will begin in Chile and, as happens in every new beginning, there are expectations and hopes with the installation of the incoming government. For more than three decades, all presidents have publicly and privately recognized the importance of science, technology, innovation, artistic creation and knowledge for the development of countries.

There have been expectations and hopes for more than three decades; all presidents have publicly and privately acknowledged the importance of science, technology, innovation, artistic creation and knowledge for the development of countries..

However, in spite of this recent evidence and the recognition of the importance of science and its support by the state in full exercise of democratic governments, the question arises: Why do voices of war arise in a context that is hypothetically so advanced in all sectors of scientific, political and social activity?

The answer to this problem will probably not be found at hand, and a strategic planning with a humanistic look that transcends the governments in office is needed, because the complexity of these problems requires cooperation and a multi- and transdisciplinary look that combines the work of the exact and natural sciences with the social sciences, humanities and arts of concrete answers that avoid the unleashing of war as the only possible solution.

I would like to know, what do you think about it?
