Not trusting our brain can preserve our psychological health

I will begin the writing of this new entry with this phrase that I read a couple of days ago and that caught my attention "Not everything our brain tells us is real", a phrase that certainly sounded very contradictory at first, however, a little to clarify my doubts I decided to investigate.

Although the brain is the most complex and enigmatic structure that the human species possesses, this is because, from the biological point of view, it helps us to coordinate all the motor activities that we carry out at a corporal level, since the brain physiologically is the organ that modulates the reactions of our nervous system following very precise codes that are found in the DNA.

However, from a psychological point of view, the brain as a biological structure is very fascinating, mainly because it is the only organ that tries to explain itself, providing us with the answers we need to make decisions in our daily lives.

However, even though the brain provides us with the answers we need to make decisions on a daily basis, multiple studies reveal that our brain processes conclusions with a lot of errors, therefore, it is constantly making mistakes.

Basically we perceive reality through our senses, hence it is indeed logical to think that our brain when crossing and processing purely emotional information, results in subjective responses.

Therefore, if our brain crosses and processes emotional information that triggers subjective responses, it is reasonable to intuit that in situations of emotional breakdown, it is best not to trust our brain, as this will allow us to preserve our psychological health in these cases of emotional adversity.
