Organic compounds in asteroids.

Souce

There are asteroids that only visit the earth and luckily other small ones hit it and two of them made news, in 2021 a small space rock specifically the one you can see above, this small rock that is inside that little boat crashed into a road in Winchcombe in the UK.

And on January 10, the University of London published a report on the organic analysis of this meteorite and it turns out that the researchers found organic compounds in it, which are basic to give rise to life, the analysis reveals that this meteorite could have formed in an environment of liquid water, that is, the researchers speak of an asteroid where there was liquid water.

The reactions that occur with liquid water gave rise to those organic molecules, amino acids and proteins that have been found in this meteorite. It is not the first time that organic molecules have been found in meteorites.

The finding of organic molecules does not mean that they are products of life, but life needs organic molecules to develop, organic molecules can remain naturally and these researchers also mention that it is not the first time that an asteroid contains liquid water therefore we would be talking about a dwarf planet or a protoplanet.

We would be talking about Enceladus, this is a very peculiar moon of Saturn, very small but for being spherical it is relatively small, it has an icy crust and under that icy crust it has a mass of liquid water, so when researchers refer to this meteorite this little stone was formed in an environment of liquid water in a meteorite surely they are talking about a protoplanet or a moon or a dwarf planet with characteristics similar to Enceladus.

Souce Planet Ceres

At the origin of the solar system there were dozens, perhaps hundreds of these "species of eggs with water" inside and where those chemical reactions that gave rise to molecules like the ones found in this meteorite took place, those hundreds of protoplanets ended up merging to create the planets we know and some that ended up destroyed and perhaps the planet Ceres located in the asteroid belt is the last of those protoplanets, in fact it has very peculiar characteristics inside it apparently there is a large mass of salty material and mineral salts and also matter of organic molecules is a small but very interesting world barely reaches 1000 kilometers in diameter.
