Apple 'Unleashes' new MacBook Pro Laptops, AirPods and More

A few weeks ago, Apple held part two of their annual fall event where they updated a number of products. They started off with music in the form of the Apple Music Voice Plan at $4.99 per month. This has a feature allowing access to your Apple Music library by just using your voice. This is something I might find useful when multitasking, while writing my next blog post.

Ear candy galore

The other audio-related entry was the updated HomePod mini, in new colors white, blue, red, yellow and black. At just $99, these puppies are priced to move, and I could see people purchasing more than one, myself included. These are a far cry from the much higher priced original HomePod which I liked, but struggled to find an audience beyond early adopters.

Next up, were the AirPods 3, priced below the AirPods Pro, at $179, now with spatial audio. New low distortion audio, these buds are sweat and water resistant. Adaptive EQ adjusts frequencies and sound to what you're hearing, with one-touch setup. Battery life has been increased by up to six hours, and up to 30 hours of charging using the case. These things will sell like hotcakes, so you might want to get your orders in now.

Portable power

However, the real stars of the show would have to be the well-appointed new MacBook Pro laptops. Featuring two models, with the Pro version sporting the M1 Pro chip. 5nm process 200GB per second 33.7 billion transistors and a 10 core CPU. The 16 core GPU is 70% faster than the original M1, and 2x faster graphics than the M1. ProRes encode and decode is another great feature for creative professionals, along with 32 GB of unified memory, along with the 16 core neural engine.

The M1 Max chip provides even more raw power, with 10.000 apps optimized for M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. The New MacBook Pro 16 and 14 inch laptops have now borrowed the Notch from the latest iPhones. With an SD card slot, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, MagSafe, and (thankfully for some), no Touch Bar. Now with Promotion 120htz screen, 1 billion colors and a 1080p FaceTime camera.

The 6 speaker sound system with spatial audio arrives in both MacBook Pro laptops. The M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are 2x faster than Intel i9 chips, with the M1 Max at up to 13x faster graphics performance. Up to 64GB unified memory. 7.4 GB/s SSD speeds. 17 hours of video playback on the 14-inch, and 21 hours of video playback on the 16-inch model, along with 16 or 32 core GPU. Prices start at: $1999 and $2499. The only question left to ask is, which of the new Apple products have you ordered?
