Mi Diario Tecnológico… / My Technological Diary.
Hello friends of the hive!… Today in my incessant learning to know more about technology I want to share something new for me and I think it will be of great help to all of us who are around the Internet daily in search of solutions, software, games and many other things…
¿Cuál es la Diferencia entre Beta y Demo?
What is the Difference between Beta and Demo?
It is possible that when trying to download a program or game we find beta or demo versions and we do not know how to differentiate one from the other thus ending our search in a failed attempt to doubt which of the two is the one we want.
Now we are going to try to understand what the differences and benefits of each would be ... The demo would be the trial version of a specific software that several of its manufacturers upload to the web so that they are available to us and we can download and use them for free . Although, this sounds great, its use would be limited to a specific period of time that generally equals fifteen days or a month and immediately upon arrival the application would stop working.
And what is the idea of this? We should take advantage of that time to thoroughly review the new improvements that have been added and make the decision whether or not it is convenient for us to purchase it. We will also realize that on some occasions certain functions or tools are disabled and they will only be accessed after having acquired the respective license. I give you an example below, in which you can see how the interested company notifies the existence of a demo and the people who wish to acquire it know it clearly.
In short and precise summary: A demo shows the "improvements" that manufacturers add to their products so that their customers decide whether or not they should buy them.
The beta versions would be the opposite, they refer to the "New" applications or updates that software designers place on the market in order to test their performance. In this way, we can analyze how they work and if they present any type of failure, and thus correct them before launching a final version. Of course, this type of version would be available to us for free. It is important to mention that not always during these tests all the faults are found.
With this I conclude my learning for the day and I leave an example of when they clearly participate in us that it is a beta version as the RIOT company did when announcing the release date of one of its video games for Latin America.
