Saludos comunidad en esta oportunidad les vengo a compartir un mantenimiento preventivo a una tarjeta de video Sapphire Rx550 de 4Gb una tarjeta bastante sencilla.
Greetings community, this time I come to share preventive maintenance for a 4Gb Sapphire Rx550 video card, a fairly simple card.
Esta es una tarjeta que me llego un amigo el cual me pidió el favor de revisarla porque presentaba una temperatura irregular, es una tarjeta bastante sencilla gama baja bastante pequeña y ligera. Yo realmente le veo un disipado bastante pequeño pero es el que trae de fábrica.
This is a card that I received from a friend who asked me to review it because it had an irregular temperature, it is a fairly simple low-end card that is quite small and light. I really see a fairly small heatsink but it is the one that comes from the factory.
Procedí a abrir la tarjeta solo trae 4 tornillos para acceder directamente al GPU. Inmediatamente note que ya le habían hecho un mantenimiento al remover la tapa con mucha facilidad por lo generar esta tapa hay que hacer una leve presión cuando viene de fábrica pero salió súper fácil y en su interior tenía una pasta térmica blanca. Yo la verdad no confió en nada en ese tipo de pasta por lo general es solo crema dental, en mi experiencia como técnico veo mucho este tipo de calentamientos con esta pasta ya que no disipa bien el calor.
I proceeded to open the card, it only has 4 screws to directly access the GPU. I immediately noticed that they had already done some maintenance by removing the lid very easily, so to generate this lid you have to apply a slight pressure when it comes from the factory, but it came out super easy and inside it had a white thermal paste. I really didn't trust anything in that type of paste, usually it's just toothpaste, in my experience as a technician I see a lot of this type of heating with this paste since it doesn't dissipate heat well.
Removí completamente es pasta blanca con una servilleta luego agregue un poco de limpia contacto para terminar de limpiar bien el Gpu sin que quede nada de pasta blanca.
I completely removed the white paste with a napkin then added a bit of contact cleaner to finish cleaning the GPU well without any white paste remaining.
Luego se procede a colocarle una pasta térmica yo uso una pasta gris MX-4 que es una pasta térmica de alto rendimiento ideal para procesadores y tarjetas de video, solo hay que agregar un poco yo siempre al esparzo en forma de X me parece lo más conveniente.
Then a thermal paste is placed on it. I use a gray MX-4 paste, which is a high-performance thermal paste ideal for processors and video cards. You just have to add a little, I always spread it in the shape of an X. convenient.
Listo con esta pasta procedí a tapar la tarjeta y asegurando bien los tornillo.
Ready with this paste I proceeded to cover the card and securing the screws well.
En conclusión una buena pasta térmica siempre ayuda a proteger mejor nuestros equipos, en mi experiencia este tipo de calentamiento irregular bien sea con el procesador o con una tarjeta de video normalmente es porque la pasta se secó o porque están usando una pasta de mala calidad que fue el caso que hoy les presente

Well as a technician I have seen it a lot here in Venezuela to save money, they use that white paste and it really does not do a good job the equipment is overheating, thanks for reading my post
