La tecnología y los niños [ESP-ENG]

Saludos amigos, espero que estén muy bien. En esta oportunidad les quiero compartir como ha influido el uso tecnología en mí y como yo he vivido con ella durante estos 20 años de edad que tengo. Hace un par de días me encontraba reunido y escuchando una conversación entre algunos padres y madres de la comunidad sobre este tema, donde cada uno opinaba y pensaba muy distinto.

Cuando yo nací la tecnología no estaba tan avanzada como ahora, mi hermano gemelo y yo no la utilizamos durante nuestra niñez, por el hecho de que como somos dos nos podíamos distraer un poco más, practicar cualquier deporte, jugar o cualquier cosa sin usar el Internet y los juegos tecnológicos no estaban de moda para esa época. A medidas que fuimos creciendo, cambiamos y ahora en estos momentos no puedo vivir si un Internet.

In this opportunity I want to share with you how the use of technology has influenced me and how I have lived with it during these 20 years of age that I have. A couple of days ago I was meeting and listening to a conversation between some fathers and mothers of the community about this topic, where each one had a very different opinion and thought.

When I was born technology was not as advanced as it is now, my twin brother and I did not use it during our childhood, due to the fact that as we are two we could distract ourselves a little more, practice any sport, play or anything without using the internet and technological games were not fashionable for that time. As we grew up, we changed and now at this moment I can't live without an internet.

Durante mi niñez no tenía idea de que era el Internet, como funcionaba o como iba avanzando la tecnología, solamente estaba pendiente de jugar con mis carros, rompecabezas o cualquier otro juego que tenía a la mano con mi hermano, ya que siempre no las pasábamos junto, había momentos que nos peleábamos, sí, pero no era motivo para dejar de jugar la pasábamos muy bien, siempre nos divertíamos. Además, mis padres nunca nos enseñaron a estar metidos en una computadora las 24 horas del día o utilizar el teléfono de ellos para jugar, eso se respetaba, yo no tenía teléfono, solamente nuestra distracción era la televisión y muy poco la veía porque no me gustaba, incluso hasta en este momento pude decir que yo no veo televisión.

Además, mis padres, para esa época, tampoco eran muy apegados con la tecnología, solamente sabían hacer lo justo y lo necesario, trámites, pagos, correos. Poco a poco aprendí a usar el internet y lo hacía solamente cuando usaba la computadora o cualquier dispositivo electrónico que tenía a la mano, siempre me gustaba abrir muchas páginas, escuchar vídeo, juegos y lo hacía sin darme cuenta de que es lo que estaba haciendo. Recuerdo que una oportunidad me apareció un vídeo de unos muñequitos por Internet y yo por curioso le di, donde me apareció que tenía que dejar unos datos, mi nombre, algo muy loco, de inmediato le comente a mis padres y no volví a utilizar la computadora por un tiempo, ya que me había asustado. Hasta que fui creciendo y me di cuenta de que eso estaba malo.

Otras de las cosas que hacía era cuando mi hermana empleaba su teléfono o la computadora me sentaba al lado de ella para ver que está haciendo, cuando niño no importaba porque no reímos, compartíamos, sin embargo, a medida que uno crece las cosas cambian ya hay otros intereses, ella quería su privacidad, revisas sus correos, en fin ya no tenía oportunidad de seguir viendo y aprendiendo. Esta era una manera de yo aprender y poder defenderme cuando me tocara utilizar los equipos electrónicos.

During my childhood I had no idea what the Internet was, how it worked or how technology was advancing, I was only aware of playing with my cars, puzzles or any other game I had at hand with my brother, since we always had fun together, there were times when we fought, yes, but that was not a reason to stop playing, we had a great time, we always had fun. Besides, my parents never taught us to be on a computer 24 hours a day or to use their phone to play, that was respected, I didn't have a phone, our only distraction was television and I rarely watched it because I didn't like it, even now I can say that I don't watch television.

In addition, my parents, at that time, were not very attached to technology either, they only knew how to do what was just and necessary, paperwork, payments, mails. Little by little I learned to use the internet and I did it only when I used the computer or any electronic device I had at hand, I always liked to open many pages, listen to videos, play games and I did it without realizing what I was doing. I remember that one time a video of some little dolls appeared on the Internet and I was curious and I hit it, where it appeared that I had to leave some data, my name, something very crazy, I immediately told my parents and I did not use the computer again for a while, because I was scared. Until I grew up and realized that it was wrong.

Another thing I did was when my sister used her phone or the computer I would sit next to her to see what she was doing, as a child it did not matter because we did not laugh, we shared, however, as you grow up things change and there are other interests, she wanted her privacy, you check your emails, in short no longer had the opportunity to continue watching and learning. This was a way for me to learn and be able to defend myself when I had to use the electronic equipment.

A medida que fui creciendo tenía más curiosidad por la tecnología, veía a mis compañeros de clases que hablaban de juegos y otras cosas que requerían el uso del Internet. Mi mamá siempre estaba pendiente de mí y me ponía ciertas condiciones para poder usar el Internet, una de esas y la más importante era terminar mis actividades escolares, no abrir páginas prohibidas, a partir de ese momento me acostumbré a que cada vez que iba a usar el teléfono o la computadora pedía permiso.

Mi mamá no me quitaba los ojos de encima, disimuladamente daba vueltas para ver que hacía. Es aquí donde se muestra el miedo de los padres cuando los niños utilizan las computadoras sin supervisión, ya que en Internet hay tanta información no apta para niños, uno no sabe que puede estar viendo, aprendiendo y hablando con personas extrañas, además algo que es de suma importancia es llegar a un acuerdo con la cantidad de horas que el niño va a utilizarlo.

Cuando la tecnología avanzo y salieron muchísimas cosas importante e interesante para la sociedad, desde ese momento ya yo empecé a tener responsabilidad de lo que hacía con el Internet. Además, en la familia cada quien empezó a tener su propio dispositivo móvil, a socializar e interactuar en las redes y muchas otras cosas que fueron apareciendo con el uso de la tecnología, para así no quedarnos atrás, fui avanzando con ella.

Sin embargo, puedo decir que disfrute de mi niñez con mis juguetes y no me hizo falta la tecnología, además pienso y creo que eran otras épocas donde uno se podía distraer con lo que sea, ahorita ya vivir sin la tecnología y el Internet es toda una locura, es quedarse en el pasado, no estar actualizado. Apenas se va el Internet por dos horas en mi casa y ya me estoy muriendo.

As I grew up I was more curious about technology, I saw my classmates talking about games and other things that required the use of the Internet. My mom was always looking out for me and set certain conditions to be able to use the Internet, one of those and the most important was to finish my school activities, not to open forbidden pages, from that moment on I got used to the fact that every time I was going to use the phone or the computer I had to ask for permission.

My mother would not take her eyes off me, she would slyly turn around to see what I was doing. It is here where the fear of parents is shown when children use computers without supervision, since on the Internet there is so much information not suitable for children, you do not know what you can be seeing, learning and talking to strangers, also something that is of utmost importance is to reach an agreement with the amount of hours the child will use it.

When technology advanced and many important and interesting things came out for society, from that moment on I started to take responsibility for what I was doing with the Internet. In addition, in the family everyone started to have their own mobile device, to socialize and interact in the networks and many other things that were appearing with the use of technology, so as not to be left behind, I was advancing with it.

However, I can say that I enjoyed my childhood with my toys and I did not need technology, I also think and believe that there were other times where one could be distracted with whatever, now living without technology and the Internet is crazy, it is to stay in the past, not to be updated. The Internet goes down for two hours in my house and I am already dying.

Una de las cosas que aprendí y me quedo como experiencia es que con el Internet te pueden destruir la vida en cuestión de segundo, así que hay que ser muy cuidadoso con lo que se hace, no dejarse engañar y comentarle a los padres si tiene alguna incomodidad con una página o sitio web, para que así tengas una vida sana y sin ningún miedo a la hora del uso del mismo, además nunca avances más que la tecnología, todo su debido momento.

One of the things I learned and I keep as an experience is that the internet can destroy your life in a matter of seconds, so you have to be very careful with what you do, do not be fooled and tell your parents if you have any discomfort with a page or website, so you have a healthy life and without any fear when using it, also never advance more than technology, all in due time.
