Time Well Spent: Blockchain Gaming's Big Advantage over Traditional Video Games

Examples of how a decentralized blockchain game is better than the games of the past - MMORPG's like FF14 and World of Warcraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto V... All in-game assets are hosted on servers and in-game items are largely stuck with the owners of the properties. The servers host the files, the saves, the items, everything related to getting, updating and storing is theirs to maintain and keep alive.

But what we have with Aavegotchi (and other examples abound like: Splinterlands, Alien Worlds and more) is a series of apps created using Matic L2 network - if Aavegotchi goes down, it's just a hub of apps that interact with NFTs.

--These apps can be deployed quickly by the community as well, integrating Aave NFT's. These in-game NFTs are tradeable beyond the game. As far as developing other fan-requested features, NFTs are highly flexible and can give the open source community a chance to co-develop around a centralized development team.

With this in mind, DAO's (decentralized autonomous organizations) and easy, fast-deployed apps and games can extend a game's longevity and provide value to players who have invested decades of their time -- by allowing them to continue to hold, trade, collect various in game items like characters, vehicles, houses, lands and so much more. World of Warcraft players may not be able to sell their much-prized high level characters, their rare mounts and gear.... but this generation of games puts the time spent into your pocket, if you can realize the opportunity presented by blockchain games and decentralization.
