Desde muy pequeños estamos siendo educados, y pasamos la vida en ello. La ciencia se ha encargado de estudiar como aprendemos e incluso la manera en la que incorporamos nuevos conocimientos en base a los existentes y todo ha ayudado a encontrar las estrategias no solo de enseñanza, sino también de aprendizaje.
From a very early age we are being educated, and we spend our lives doing it. Science has been in charge of studying how we learn and even the way in which we incorporate new knowledge based on the existing ones, and everything has helped to find strategies not only for teaching, but also for learning.
Quiere decir esto que, la educación es una ciencia, que encaja perfectamente en el paradigma en el cual estudiemos sus procesos. Recordemos que, la mayoría de los currículos obedecen a las necesidades de un país, y desde tiempos remotos la investigación cuantitativa, más que todo positivista ha marcado la pauta.
This means that education is a science, which fits perfectly into the paradigm in which we study its processes. Let us remember that most curricula obey the needs of a country, and since ancient times quantitative research, mostly positivist, has set the standard.
De esta manera la humanidad pudo educar a miles de seres que se convirtieron en grandes científicos. Unos descubrieron el ADN, otros nos llevaron a la luna, inventaron los antibióticos, diseñaron las computadoras, los automóviles, y podría pasar líneas de líneas mencionando los grandes logros humanos.
In this way, humanity was able to educate thousands of people who became great scientists. Some discovered DNA, others took us to the moon, invented antibiotics, designed computers, automobiles, and I could go on and on mentioning the great human achievements.
Los inventos y la tecnología cada vez nos hicieron la vida más fácil, y desde tiempos posmodernos ha nacido la necesidad de no sólo estudiar desde los números, sino visualizar los fenómenos desde la postura de sus actores sociales. Esto ha sido un gran ruido para los positivistas, quien sólo manejan la objetividad cuando la relación sujeto- objeto se mantiene en control.
Inventions and technology have made our lives easier and easier, and since postmodern times the need has arisen not only to study from numbers, but to visualize phenomena from the position of their social actors. This has been a big noise for positivists, who only manage objectivity when the subject-object relationship is kept in control.
La investigación cualitativa sin lugar a dudas ha dejado un sentido rastro en la humanidad. Cada enfoque ha buscado desde su perspectiva construir la realidad-ontología desde los involucrados, pues al final de cuentas, cada sujeto obedece a una formación particular que le invita a ver el fenómeno desde diferentes aristas.
Undoubtedly, qualitative research has left a meaningful trace in humanity. Each approach has sought from its perspective to construct the reality-ontology from those involved, because at the end of the day, each subject obeys a particular formation that invites him to see the phenomenon from different angles.
¿Volver a lo humano? Pues sí, al individuo con la cabeza bien puesta como lo diría Edgar Morin o Miguel Martínez. Un humano que construye un universo, en donde cada uno lo puede apreciar desde diferentes formas nos invita a cambiar hacia lo holístico y lo profundo.
Back to the human? Yes, to the individual with his head on straight as Edgar Morin or Miguel Martinez would say. A human who builds a universe, where everyone can appreciate it from different ways invites us to change towards the holistic and the deep.
Tal vez la investigación cualitativa viene a evitar las generalizaciones en masa, para universos humanos, pues cada uno tiene una postura ontológica que podría discernir de la otra. Pudiese ser esta la razón por la que ahora la educación busca currículos endógenos adaptados a las necesidades reales de una localidad, que podrían ser muy distintas del resto.
Perhaps qualitative research comes to avoid mass generalizations, for human universes, because each one has an ontological stance that could discern from the other. This could be the reason why education now seeks endogenous curricula adapted to the real needs of a locality, which could be very different from the rest.
Nos invade el miedo a la subjetividad, pero quien ahora puede asegurar que nunca haya existido manipulación de resultados en alguna investigación ¿Cierto? Pues sí, podría ser posible y que tal si comenzamos a estudiar a los humanos desde la humanidad… ¿Sería posible?
We are overcome by the fear of subjectivity, but who can now ensure that there has never been any manipulation of results in any research, right? Well, yes, it could be possible and what if we start studying humans from humanity... Would it be possible?
