Is Lasik eye surgery safe and effective to remove myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism?

Eyes are one of the most precious sensory organs we have. But, our vision may get distorted or be less accurate because of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Some people use specs to remove those deformities but, it is very cumbersome to wear glasses all the time. Technology can help us to solve these issue. Lasik Laser surgery has become a great technological advancement which can help us to remove those problems. Lasik eye surgery can remove problems related to eyesight but, is it safe?

I currently do not have any experience with Lasik eye surgery, but I have myopia, so this would be good to know.

In my case anyway! I had one eye done about 25 years ago, had no difficulties then or since and even after all these years my vision is still pretty good.
