Paragraph
Myeongbu-Jeon Hall is the place of praying for the deads. As looking around this hall, I found out the differences with other temples. It was wall paintings. Unlike other halls, the drawings were painted on the wall of the hall.

It is said that Chiljangsa temple is the temple of the legends. There were 3 legends inherited in this temple.

The first one is the story relating to teaching 7 mountain thieves living in this mountain by the great monk who had found this temple.

The second legend was the story concerning the good-thief Yim Keog Jeong who had lived in Chosun dynasty. He could be understood as the same character as Robinhood in England.

The last is the legend about the monk king in the name of Goong Yeo who became a king in the turmoil during the last period of Shilla dynasty unified Korean peninsular first time.

The monk king Goong Yeo seemed to be raised in this temple. He was a master of archery.

The story of being a king was drawing on the wall

The monk king Goongyeo was killed by Wang Geon, the founder of Goryeo dynasty, who was his subordinate. In his last time, the monk king was changed into a strange cruel person. It seemed that he had suffered mental disease.

I wonder if we ever get to know what the truths are in history since the victorious write the history books. Did he go mad or was he slowly poisoned? Maybe I should put away the mystery books I read.

I love such stories that were captured in old historical buildings, it is something that everyone can understand and interpret as the language of Art is one for everyone and does not need interpretation, it is beauty that we appreciate and sometimes timeless :)
