The new processor of AMD is too strong, Windows cannot handle it

Users, who build their PCs with the new recently introduced, super strong, Threadripper 3990X processor, may have a very unpleasant experience. Because it looks like that the Windows cannot handle the brutal strong processor, and because of that, it will work on it slower than the slower processors.

The reason for this is the fact that the processors 64 physical cores are appear as 128 logical cores - which is more than even what the Windows 10 Pro could handle in total. Because of this, the software, as a necessity, will split the logical cores into two groups, and start to handle them as if they were two separate processors - including that it will not allow the programs to jump back and forth between the two core groups.

This is reasonable and advantageous in that cases, where there are really two processors are present, but it is reversed in the case of 3990X. Because on the new super chip, some strongly parallel applications will run slower on Windows 10 Pro, than if we would run them on a processor with less cores.

The problem however does not appear on Windows 10 Enterprise and on Workstation, because these versions does not have the above mentioned restriction, which forces the operating system to split the cores into two groups. But these versions are available only to enterprises, so the home users should buy a little bit slower processor - Or run Linux, for which also not a problem to handle even more than 100 cores.
