Science fiction is no longer fiction. It is already in reality, and it is expected that nuclear fusion will not be as far as you think.

For the development of the same, in the next decades there will be a race for the conquest of the moon, in search of its desired helium. 3. This material, would serve to provide energy to humanity for several centuries, necessary help in a century in which the population increase will double or even triple the demand for net energy.

What implications does the exploitation of lunar helium 3 have? Apart from the energy advantages, there is another conceptual one, and that is that humanity will make the leap from a Kardashov type I scale to a type II.

What is that about the Kardashov scale? It is a system created by an astrophysicist named Nikolai Kardashov, to measure the degree of energy use of a civilization.

It is classified in this way:

Type I civilization: it is one that can only exploit the resources of its own planet. Humanity would be currently at this level. It is measured on a scale ranging from minimum 0 to maximum 1, and humans would explode at a level of 0.72.

Type II civilization: capable of exploiting the resources of the entire solar system. Here humans would manage to exploit the riches of other planets and add them to our civilization. The conquest of the moon and the exploitation of its helium 3, would result in the jump to this type of civilization.

Type III civilization: far from our horizons, because here we would exploit the resources of the galaxy. The scientists, in their day, predicted that it would take us 100 or 200 years to become a type II civilization - the latest news indicates a much greater temporal proximity - but type III civilization would be far from being dreamed.

Type IV civilization: here we have beings capable of exploiting the resources of the entire universe. There is no game for us, and perhaps hyperintelligence born of AI, could aspire to solve this challenge.

Humanity is in a fragile balance, where if you play your cards well you can conquer the world beyond its limits. However, we walk along a light rope, and it is remarkable that as fast as we have accelerated in our evolution, we can go back if we misuse it.
