My favorite feature on Brave Browser: YouTube hates this
I installed Brave browser on my Android phone and have really enjoyed it blocking ads and earning crypto by viewing Braves ads. Though those not my favorite features.
Maybe this has happened to you, a video on YouTube plays and you want to keep listening but dont need the video part of it. So you press the power button on your phone to lock and turn off the screen. At that moment the YouTube video pauses. I've done this dozens of times and realized I have to leave my screen on or the video will pause.
When I'm listening to JRE this happens to me alot. It's a long form talk and I dont need to see them, unless Joe is showing them something off screen. Funny how often they cant show what they are showing the guests.. anyways.
Back to the video pause issue, YouTube offers a solution to this. Pay us money.. lol well Brave has a free solution to this.
Goto the settings menu in the upper right corner of the browser. Then scroll down to controls. And you should see Background video playback.
By setting this to enabled, the videos will play even with the screen off or if you goto a different tab. Finally I can listen to podcasts on YouTube without draining my battery so quickly due to needing to play the video the whole time.
Damn that is indeed a nice feature. I do love Brave Browser but haven't been using that a lot since we do not get those Brave Ads in our Country.
I really wish they add India to their List as I would also love to get some free tokens by watching ads.😁
It sure is, im glad I can get rewards. Ive already gained $30 in payouts.
Yeah India seems pretty strict on cryptocurrencies. Hoping they loosen up.
I didn't know that! Thanks! :D
Ah glad you learned something new about Brave.
Awesome feature.
It sure is, took me a month or so of using it before I learned about that feature.
Brave is pissing me off. I never get ads, and have tried all ways to entice some (desktop version).., I didn't know it was on IOS. Getting it now.
Stack them BATs!
It depends on your "focus". If you just run it in the background and not really click through websites it wont display ads. But if you use it as your primary browser then it feeds alot more I've noticed. You can also set the amount of ads you want to see in the settings. Personally I have set to max.
I almost gave up on Win 10 but read around and messed with the notification settings and they started appearing.
Feel a bit dirty linking this

I've turn the sound off for the advert and didn't install and weird shit. Good luck!
Ah good to hear you were able to fix it. Luckily mine have been working fine but glad to see there are guides to fix it.
I tipped it on publish0x, thanks for the link.
The more I use Brave, the more I love it. I got my 92 year old grandmother to switch from Chrome to Brave. The only difference she sees is the lion icon, and that's it.
I really like their product too, and yeah that makes sense because its based on Chrome. Brave is one of the few cryptos with an actual product.
Hive is one of the few as well :)
