[Review]My First Experience Using Brave Browser
It is definitely a cocktail review.
It takes me a while to jump into Brave Browser Bandwagon. I am a Tech-skeptic, I don't often try things because people speak highly of it. Besides, I am currently writing from my old 4 years HP Notebook while still trying to save up for newer ones and getting out of my bumhood mode of life. Hence, I always favor light-weight options such as opera. That isn't to say I don't have the browser installed, I have it for such a long time but it never has any appeal to me. Classic me, it takes years before moving out of my comfort zone.
As advertised above, I am going to tell my experience if what they're advertising matches my experience. Here are several things I would like to review on this browsers :
- Looks : Clean and eye-catching homepage
By now, I realized that I actually prefer simplicistic products than any page with glossy user interface. For me, glossy UI translates as horrible UX (user experience).
- Features: Blockers You name it
This is what I like. It features script blocker, cross-site blockers, ad blockers too. So, as advertised your privacy is intact.
- Page Experience : Faster Load page
Running a 4 years old laptop, I surely need something that works. Chrome failed to do the duty as of now. So, the only option I have is Opera and Firefox.
- More : Supporting Crypto Project
As an enthusiast in Free software movement and blockchain technology, I think brave browser supports the cause too. However, since it's my only first day utilizing the product, I will have to read and learn more.
I think those are the pros I can find using Brave Browser. There is something that is still not available on Brave Browser. Something I and people truly need, coming from a country with low internet freedom; we need the VPN option.
For instance, in OPERA there is VPN option only by one click on the side bar menu. It is very helpful to access banned sites such as reddit. So, it would be perfect if Brave added that kind of option too. Granting all of this, security wise, I still don't trust easy VPN service but it serves the purpose for simple things.
In general, I enjoy using it for minimalistic and simple search. I won't utilize it for something that needs VPN and any sensitive information.

Kalau VPN jangan gunakan bersamaan dengan transaksi bank. Kalau cuma lihat film saja rasanya oke-oke aja. Asal nggak buka-buka yang berbau-bau pakai password.

Kalau untuk bank dan hal-hal sensitive credentials, itu tergantung firewall system kita juga. Kalau untuk orang awam, saya pastinya tidak menyarankan. Apalagi VPN yang beredar di pasaran sudah pernah terbobol setidaknya satu atau bahkan berkali-kali.

I use it more than chrome, it is a very nice browser and I like a lot that it is very safe

Di Brave ada Incognito with Tor (Alt+Shift+N), lumayan kuat kalau buat buka reddit (masih lebih kenceng VPN nya opera sih). Tapi ga tau juga sih kedepannya. Moga makin kencang jaya.
