Open Index Protocol

I have been following so many new technologies these last 7 years since I left Facebook that it sometimes makes my head spin.

The first one was Diaspora - a federated social network that was a gateway drug to both the federated technologies and to the blockchain technologies.

Steemit - well... not surprising anyone here I guess, but Steemit has been both an important information source and a way of making some money on my art. It also was an introduction to some of the many possibilities decentralised tech opens up for artists like myself

Alexandria.io - was one of the first blockchain projects I followed that worked with art publishing. I did put up some of my artworks on their work in progress site to help out. Today I received a link for this video with a new indexing technology they have been working on. It is still new to me but I thought some of you out here might find it interesting.

Who knows what will come of this, but the problem they address with this is important. Information should flow freely and indexing is a key to the distribution of information.

Well, humans like to have all there stuff in one easy to find place.

Thus, if f-c-book was honest, open and cared about user privacy, it would be the greatest thing. But they're not.

The future will be much different; inside out.

Everyone will have a "wall" server.
And they will post their stuff on their wall server and allow access to it by the friends that they select.

There will be wall viewing softwares that will go out and pull all the pertinent stuff from all your friend's walls, and display it, probably something like f-c-book used to look like.

There's so much going on out there at the moment. I can't keep up myself. Thanks for the link to the video, though... This is another think I have to remind myself to check out when I have time !

Have you heard of Makersplace and Narrative? There's also Creary or something like that, I can't remember, but it's made for artists. Not sure if any of them are a 'real' project, but Makersplace seems like it has good management, at least...

I have heard about Makersplace as @shortcut made some fine digital works there, but never really got into as it is a bit different from my normal CC concept - but I guess i might try it out some times. The katharsisdrill koncept is not a straightjacket :)

I will also try looking at the other too, when I have time.
