RE: The Great Race

As part of a program of counter measures, I believe the US, which currently leads in quantum computing research, will employ an agressive and perhaps covert stance, in halting China's advance. As the science of quantum computing continues to evolve, even the best of current encryption schemes will be rendered useless and thus AI systems protected by such schemes will be venerable to attack. Imaging if China Deploys AI with the intent of mass popullation control only to have it infilitrated, subverted and turned against its rulers. In the end, China's AI ambitions may prove to be a double-edged sword.
