Blackout Challenge Didn't Originate With TikTok
The 'blackout challenge' has gained a lot of attention on social media recently specifically on TikTok where kids have been allegedly pressured in some circumstances into engaging in this trend. But this trend isn't anything new.. over 20 years ago kids were challenging each other to do this in my own high school and while I am not sure how prevalent the challenge was at the time, it is clear that this is some stupidity that has been around for decades and isn't new but is gaining new attention because of TikTok and other social media that might highlight it.
It is incredible to see the sorts of stupid and dangerous challenges that go viral today and at times astounding to see how much willingness there is from people around the world today to consider it a good idea to engage in them.

What does one expect in a idiocracy where idiots educate idiots???

nothing less than world education domination
It might help if you added a line or two explaining what the 'blackout challenge' is.
It seems every year there is a new 'trend' to panic over. How much concern does this really warrant?
didn't want to give more attention to the stupidity figured ppl could look it up if they had that much interest
you are right ive lost count how many have gone around and media picked up on lol
It seems to me a few idiots and a lot of yellow journalism fuel these headlines. I don't think there were really all that many people eating Tide Pods, for example. And the parents who want to sue TikTok show a lack of personal responsibility and misplaced accountability themselves IMHO.
